MEET BEA.

Hi, I’m Bea — a film editor obsessed with shaping characters, emotions, and rhythm. Editing first hooked me because diving into a character’s psyche helped me understand my own. Now I cut films to help audiences feel the same: raw, authentic, and free. Like César A. Cruz said, “Art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable.”

Origin Story.

At 18, my dad recommended Blue Velvet. Watching Lynch’s vulnerable, unsettling world as a misunderstood teen cracked something open in me. I walked away thinking, “I have no choice but to make films that do this to other people.” Editing became my way in — and my way of making sure no film I touch feels empty.

I’m an MFA candidate in Film & TV at SCAD, with a BFA in Audiovisual Arts (film editing focus) from the National Film School of the Latvian Academy of Culture.

My research on stream-of-consciousness editing explored how non-linear rhythms can hit audiences harder than traditional cuts — a philosophy I carry into every project.

As an editor, my goal is simple: either comfort you to your core or leave you speechless.

La vida es como la espuma, por eso hay que darse como el mar. (Life is like the surf, so give yourself away like the sea.)
